i am building a 302/C4 to put in a mav. and today i was trying to put the flexpate and torque converter on and now here is the confusing part... i got a new torque converter with the rebuilt transmission i got from advance auto and i bolted the bell housing from one of my '74 302/C4 mavericks to it. i also bought a flexplate for a 302/c4. the flexplate doesnt fit the torque converter that came with the tranny, but it does fit the torque converter from the 200 6. i have a old flexplate from a 79 351W that fits the t.converter but doesnt fit in the bell housing.i know the flexplate has alot to do with engine balance so i dont want to screw up so any info will be greatly greatly appreciated.
PS, the smaller flexplate (new one) has 157 teeth the big one (79 351W)has about 165.
