I know that's the prevailing opinion about these engines, but I just happen to be a fan, based on my own personal experience. I can't count the number of 5.0's that I roasted with my 4,500+ pound behemoth XL. I've owned three 302's in the past and have never been impressed with the small block (however I'm sure there are examples out there that would change my mind). You're right about the weight, though. When I put a 4v intake on my 390, it took two of us to lift it & lower it in place, with no minor effort. There's certainly nothing light about them. I guess a 429 or 460 would be a more logical (and economical?) choice if I'm going to consider a big-block. Thanks for your thoughts.
