get a BIG FREAKIN RATCHET and put a socket on the crank bolt on the front. preferably a 1" drive socket and ratchet. if you cant turn it with that then something is screwed. make sure you put the right torque converter on too.

: Alright, i finally got my tranny all put back together and in my car, and now i've got a bit of a problem: i can't turn the engine over! The tranny is lined up with the engine and all the bolts are in place, my thought is that the engine should be able to turn even if i screwed up on the transmission (which, since it's my first time, i certainly may have). Is this true, or could the transmission be preventing the engine from turning? I'm a little worried the engine may have seized (i ran it for about 2 minutes while it was losing oil and i didn't realize it). I guess what i'm really looking for is any ideas why the engine wouldn't be turning....so if you have anything to add, i'd REALLY appreciate it!
: Thanks!
