Hi all!
JUST got the inspection sticker, tires and rims for my '76 Mav, looking good! And finally street legal to boot! Anyways, I'm having a very annoying problem with the transmission.
When I'm doing about 30 miles an hour (+-10 mph) and give it more gas the transmission seems to "slip", the engine builds up speed and eventually the tranmission "catches up" to the new throttle setting. This is a C4 Automatic transmission. I've checked the fluid level and its right on the money. The books I have show how to do a reverse and intermediate band adjustment. Why? What does the adjustment do? They never say WHY you'd want to do it, just how. I wonder if these adjustments would help me with the problem.
Any advice would be appreciated!

P.S. I hate working on Transmissions or air conditioners, everything else is fair game for this shadetree mechanic ;^)
