I have the same intake/carb. combo you do. I do however have a performer cam to top it off. The cam gives a very good increase of topend power over the stock cam. I did feel I lost a little off the line, but still over comes this problem because of it's pull as RPM's climb. I do have one complaint, just as 74Merc said, mine just doesn't want to tune right. It is more consistant than the Holley, but I still think my 600 CFM Holley made more power with the intake/cam I have. I switched to the Edlebrock awhile after the cam swap because I figured the Edlebrock 500 CFM carb. would get me better mileage as well as a better take off. This has been the opposite affect. I get 1 MPG less now with my Edlebrock and have a "Lesser Power" feel. It does respond more often though as I said more consistant. It runs richer then the Holley and I have played with A/F ratio and am thinking the jets are just too big for a mild 302. Check your plugs after 1k miles, I guarantee they will be black(too rich) as mine are. Anyone have suggestions? I suck at carb. tuning. :(
