I am building my 70 Maverick for racing, but my recently acquired 73 Grabber will be restored to original condition. I was thinking of doing a few mods to the 73 internally while retaining a stock look. A shift kit and a 3.25 gear ratio rear would be a must. But for the 302 I wanted a bit more torque. How does a 331 sound? Has anyone done this and been completely happy with it? I was thinking of "Power Heads" flowed to 203CFM intake/164CFM exhaust, 331 cast crank, Crower rods with .030 over Hypereutectic pistons, 9.5-10:1 CR, Comp Cams Aluminum Roller rocker(1.6 ratio), Ford F-303 roller cam (.512 lift/ 288 Adv. duration or 226@.050 lift), silent type gear drive, Performer RPM intake(ground off letters and painted blue), and a 625-650 CFM Holley. I also suppose Performer RPM heads(229CFM intake/172CFM exhaust) could be painted blue as well to retain a stock look and increase performance, it just depends on the money I can put into the car.
Anyone have a Desktop dyno and could tell me what kind of power I am looking at with either cyl. head setup? Thanks.
