I disagree that the general consensus is that they are mythical. More than one source has said the same thing: 300 were built in 1971. This is stated in the Shelby Registry which also lists Mustangs and Cobras. However the Mexican Shelbys (both Mustangs and Mavericks, and some Mustangs have been documented) were built by a contracter (not by Ford or Shelby American) so the record-keeping and documentation sucks. -CP
: hi, just wondered if anyone had any info and or photos on the shelby maverick. I know of one link but it wont display. they were made in 1971 by shelby de mexico. production was around 300 units from reports.thanks.
