Looks like I'm finally going to get a chance to rebuild the motor. I asked a local shop and they said $895.00. That's taking block & head to them and they do the works on it. That's more than I'm willing to pay at this point. I had the head done about 1.5 years ago so it should be good. I'm looking for advice on getting it done but not breaking the bank on it. I can rent a lift & stand & probably do most of the work here. I have not rebuilt a motor before but feel that I am up to the task. I do have a Chilton's manual to go by.
Wouldn't mind souping it up a little if I could do so without spending too much. Main interest is in reliability though.
