Help with the evil R word.

RUST! I have some rust in the rear passenger panel :o( I was hoping that ignoreing it would make it go away but it looks like my plan failed. Anyhow how do I fix this? It is about 2 inches tall and stretches back about 6 inches. I'm afraid I will have to use the B word (bondo) and was wondering if this would be expensive in a shop or if there is something else that would be a long term fix. Anyone had any good experinces with bondo?
