Ok so.... if i decide to buy a new 3rd mem for a 8" rear all i need to do is get the gears in it i want (373 to 391) and buy it with a street locker installed and for 28 spline. Now if i want to upgrade to 31 spline then i need to order it that way and get the new axles in 31 spline? as i assume the 31 spine will not fit in the 28 spline shaft rear? I am also assuming that if i get the gears in the new 3rd mem that its a drop and install job? thanks

:The 8" traction locs and the earlier 8" equa-locs are very difficult to find. It would likely be cheaper and easier to find a 9" set-up. I just bought a 9" traction loc center section for 75.00. I doubt you will find an 8" for that kind of money! Some of the other folks on the board can tell you which 9" housings will bolt into the maverick with little or no mods.
