You will need a camber compensating "wedge" to prevent ball-joint bind due to the revised angle of the a-arm. Cutting the spring will get you the rest of the way without unduly stiffening the spring rate. Watch out for clearance problems with the under carriage: especially the swaybar and tires. So far as how much to cut, you will need to calculate the sring rate - this involves measureing the coil diameter, height and the wire thickness. I have the formula somewhere:)
: ok here is my question i have a 351w built and ready to put in my 74 mav but i still dont have any coil springs, i want to cut them for a
: 1 1/2"- 2" drop but i dont want the ride to be too harsh and i was just wondering if i could use I6 springs cut 1 coil or should i use 302 springs cut 1 coil.
