Hello everyone. I am a New here. I got my Maverick about 7 months ago. Its a 77 four door with 250. It was setting in the back of a car lot waiting for the crusher when I saw it and fell in love. I bought it for 300$$ and drove it off the lot. It had a few minor problems but for the most part it was in very good condition (still gots the orignial shine).
Right now it is running pretty good and is very reliable but it is leeking oil from the Head Gasket.
I am not a very good mechanic but I can do a litlle
Here is the Question...
When I go to replace the head gasket should I take it to get the head shaved down?
Would it Give a plausible increase in performence? What would be the adavantages and disadvantages?
How much shoul I get shaved off?
And if I do get it shaved, What else would I need to adjust to compensate for the increase compression.
