1974 Comet 302 V8

I have several questions regarding the performance of this 1974 comet 302 V8. Are the heads of any value? What is the compression ratio? Also, is this block any different as far as strength than a newer block?
Basically, I need to know if I should keep this block as a spare or is it your typical run-of-the-mill smog motor that really isn't worth keeping. It would need a complete rebuild. Thanks in advance!
