302 engine prices?

went to the junkers today, looking a 302 to put in. fist place had them for $350, second place had them for $900, low mileage.
even if i bought one for $350 and it needed to be rebuilt, would it cross $900? which do you think is the better way to go, and are these prices realistic, or are they trying to screw me?
also, what years lincoln versailles rearends work on the 74 mav.
