The truth is that your "Friend" is probably bankrupt from his accidents and injuries. if it was his fault then he won't be getting any settlement and unless he has no credit card debt or a bunch of assets over the bankrupcy limit you won't be collecting sh t. Good Money after bad. Since it is unlikely that you will collect any settlement, no lawyer will take your case on a contingentcy basis. Talk to a few and they will ask for the money up front. My advice is just to let it go.
