I have a question for you all. What do you think, legally and morally, about someone taking the VIN number off of a Grabber and putting it on their regular Maverick so they can call it a Factory "Grabber". Once it is done, it is hard to prove I suppose, so legally there is not much you can do.

The reason I ask is that I had a parts car Grabber I put in a junk yard about a year ago. I had a guy call me last week and ask if I had the title to that car. I told him I did not. He told me he bought the car and was going to restore it. I told him that the car wasn't worth restoring and that is why I put it in the junk yard.

I went out to the junk yard a few days later to discover the guy stole the VIN off of the dash. I know that he is going to put it on another Maverick and call it a Grabber....a V-8 Grabber at that according to the VIN.

I was pretty peeved about it. I still have the VIN written down so if he pulls off the scam, I will know the real story behind that VIN. From now on I will destroy the VIN number on the cars I put in Junk yard just to prevent this fraud. I guess you know my opinion :)
