I am trying to convert my coloum shift auto to a floor shift. My father offered me the old floor shifter and hardware from his '67 cougar ( he has a 289 that he swapped out to a top loader four speed ) and I was wondering if it would fit. My mav is a '77 with a 302 C-4 auto trans. I have heard others talk about a reversed shift pattern when going to a floor shifter. What should I look for? Also, will the bench seats work or will I need to find some buckets?
