: I was told that there was a difference in horsepower between a 69 and a 73. Are the blocks bored different or is it just the heads. Any help appreciated. ..Yes. The 69-2v was rated at 220. The 73-2v rated at 138. ..69 has 9.5 cr, 73 has 8.0 cr. ..Other differences would be the cam timing in that the cam gear in 73 may have been retarded. Piston deck height was .016 for 69 and .035 for 73. Total block deck height for 69 is 8.206, for 73 is 8.229. There is a difference in combustion chamber volume. The bore and stroke are the same. ..Ken
