1975 Ford Maverick Grabber / Mercury Comet GT

Almost no changes for 1975, the final year for the Maverick Grabber and Comet GT. The Granada was introduced this year, and along with the new Mustang II the Maverick no longer needed a sporty image. The Maverick and Comet were kept until 1977 by Ford to fill the economy car need caused by the gas crisis. The performance gap was filled somewhat by the Maverick Stallion, introduced as part of a Ford trio (Pinto, Mustang II, Maverick) in 1976.

New styled steel wheels (aka Magnum 500's) were introduced in 1975 for the Maverick and Comet, and made standard on the Grabber and GT models. Aluminum wheels remained an option for these cars.

Although the Maverick Grabber went through many changes (such as hood, spoiler, and stripe designs), the Comet GT remained basically the same throughout its 5 year production, keeping its hood scoop and black stripe (except on black cars).
