I have a spare Mav just dying for a big motor to replace the wimpy I-6. I'm going to attempt some cutting of the shock towers and firewall for clearance (don't worry, the mav is wrecked and isn't that nice...). Does anyone know if a C-6 and C-4 have the same output shaft? Do any of you guys have some 460 speed parts you want to sell? like intake manifolds, headers, high comp. pistons, 429 heads, stuff like that?
I'd like to make my own headers (saw a couple Fords at the dragstrip, and the guys said they weren't that hard to make) Has anyone tried to lighten a maverick? What stuff can be lost that won't ruin the structure of the car? I might trash all the Glass and get some plexi, will it pass inspection? I'll probably weld in some subframe connectors. Anyway, I'm gonna have a lot of time on my hands this summer. Has anyone else tried to fit a 460 in a Mav? I mostly want to do it just because no one has any big block Ford cars around here and to give Mavericks a little more respect. It should be somewhat fast just because of the size of the motor in a light car. What do you guys think?
