:I used an 85 AOD, worked fine, I made my current linkage work by flipping over the shifter lever on the tranny and adding length to the shifter linkage.
:the crossmember should work, but I'm making another, I moved my original crossmember behind the original mounting point with a little reinforcement, but after my headers it wasn't low enough.
:I used the 85 TV rod, worked fine, but I highly recommend the Lokar TV cable for AOD w/carb's. it fits much better, just overall simpler solution, I had to bend the TV rod to fit under my firewall, that threw off a lot of crap, which made me have to bend other stuff.
:also gives you more allowance if changing carbs and such, I added a 1 inch spacer, so I had to rebend my TV rod again, the cable is unaffected.
:the biggest issue is the tranny tunnel size of your 69.5, all AOD's are the same size, and it was a damn tight fit in my 74.Seems like it is a lot of time and work to make it fit properly. I am now thinking of the C4 bolt on overdrive that a company sold a few years back. It just bolted to the tail shaft and it had a button that when pushed, would give overdrive. It was around $1500 though. I suppose it is around the same price as the AOD and would require less hassle though. Do you know the setup I am refering to? Thank you for your help.
