I have finally completed the drive train resto on my Grabber, the problem? When I put the starter on and turned it over (the starter whined a good deal) as I adjusted the distributer. The first time the motor fired the top bolt hole on the starter broke off the starter housing.
So, I replaced the starter and shimed it back 1/4". adjusted the timing low( in case it was the crank wanting to spin backwards that broke the starter) turned it over and as soon as the motor fired the starter broke. I TIG welded the POS ( piece of s#4%@) back together, shimed it back again ( I didn't check for squareness) and broke it again.
I am stumped. any ideas??
